Metrakit moped and scooter racing products have been around a long time with its main emphasis being the 50cc moped market. The range of products is not vast by any means but this could only be seen as a positive in our mind and in turn has led to some of the best performing kits in each of the performance ranges, standard, sport, mid race and full competition units.
The MK series of products has been designed to replace the original components but with a slight improvement in performance. MK + cylinder ranges continue to use the original bore size whilst maximising performance through improved port transfers and materials. MK70 cylinders are specific to geared mopeds making use of quality materials with a view to a long life, with the increased torque and low rpm power these are an excellent option if you find yourself sticking with the original carburettor or exhaust. This leaves just the SP3 and PRO3 cylinder and exhaust kits which we like a lot and both thankfully cover scooters as well as geared mopeds. The SP3 is Metrakit’s mid race option but after seeing the spec we can only compare it to some of the race specifications we see in other brands. PRO3 products are yet to arrive but we will keep you informed, we can’t wait.
